WHAT IS VICTORIA BOOTCAMP?
Victoria Bootcamp is part of a community centered health and fitness company specializing in fun and effective training and nutrition counseling for all fitness levels and group sizes. Owner and founder, Sue Killin (Pritchard) started Victoria Bootcamp in 2007 with the goal of bringing her passion for healthy living to the community around her. She began as a personal trainer at a local gym while running outdoor bootcamps in the evenings and weekends. Her self-confidence and determination led her to strike out on her own and create a company that would accurately reflect her passion for health and fitness. Over the years Sue has become one of the most experienced and respected trainers in our community through a constant process of self growth and education.
Victoria Bootcamp provides a battery of weekly indoor and outdoor bootcamps as always, for a more social and dynamic workout. Sue encourages all bootcamp members to take part in community fitness events and competitions, as well as intramural sports and social events.
So who is Sue?
Sue Killin (Prichard) has always been interested in personal health and fitness. She has partaken in many sports and athletic events over the years including rowing, squash, tennis, volleyball, Tough Mudder, and various races. She is internally motivated to eat well and exercise consistently and strives to foster this motivation in others. Eating well and learning how the body is affected by the food we eat is an area that she loves to explore. Sue believes that eating well along with exercise is the best way to achieve our long-term health and fitness goals.
Sue’s goal as a trainer is to help us reach our personal health and fitness goals. It sounds easy enough, yet motivation is often our biggest struggle. Most of us desire a varied and healthy diet, and a fit and healthy body, yet achieving these goals is difficult as we have children, work, family obligations, school, and the desire to have a social life, let alone finding time to cook healthy meals and exercise. Sue wants to share her expertise with us so that we can become more positively motivated to achieve a healthy balance of fitness, work, family, and of course, play.
Whether we are already exercising consistently, or are looking to make a lifestyle change, Sue is excellent at finding the specific ways to motivate each of us to work to reach our next health and fitness goal. She is excellent at isolating and rehabbing nagging injuries to get us back in top form, all the while providing a positive and constructive training atmosphere.
Learning to find balance in life can be difficult, which is where a personal trainer like Sue becomes invaluable. Learning easy ways to eat healthy, be more productive in our workouts, rehab an injury, learning how to relieve stress, and becoming accountable, are just some of the things we will learn from her. These changes can not only prolong our lives, but make it a happier and more fulfilling life to live.

So Who is Jen?
Jen Ikle is an experienced, knowledgeable Personal Trainer with the ability to clearly communicate the what, where, why, and how her clients can reach optimum overall health and well-being. Jen’s goal is to help people maintain a healthy lifestyle by building strength in body and mind.
Fitness has been the focus of my entire life from gymnastics at the age of 4, to swimming, soccer, volleyball, softball, and playing competitive squash in school. It was the Grade 8 weight room and cardio workouts that kick started my love of fitness training.
Today, I enjoy bike riding, hiking, walking, and rollerblading to compliment my strength training routine, along with weights for a perfect balance. My goal with exercise has always been to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Exercise for me manages pain, prevents disease, and keeps my bones strong. After sustaining multiple injuries, my quest to help people overcome and prevent injuries became my new focus. Regardless of setbacks, I am a testament that if you set your mind to it, you can recover from anything!
For me, there is no greater challenge than to achieve success in life through great struggle – and so my journey began. I discovered hard work and persistence can help us realize any goal we desire. Even though I started from a place of physical disability, I adapted and rebuilt myself to a point where I could live a ‘normal’ life again. Physical health can always get better no matter when we start!
A Note on Nutrition:
Equally important as fitness is healthy eating. In my life, I have faced addiction issues and food allergies. Finding the right balance of fruits and vegetables in every meal is incredibly important. For me, a gluten-free, and a dairy-free diet is essential to minimize digestive problems and heightened inflammation in my joints. Because of the multiple injuries I received from the motor vehicle accident, any physical or emotional stress results in inflammation. Exercise and nutrition together are essential for my optimal well-being.
To give back, I like to help people struggling with physical challenges while also addressing any emotional, and dietary challenges in order to achieve optimal balance in life.
So who is Lauren?
Lauren Carrigan’s passion for health and wellness began at a young age, playing a variety of high-level sports like soccer, basketball, tennis, running and yoga. She has always enjoyed reading and learning about how to properly nourish her body and how to stay motivated towards achieving her athletic goals. During her biochemistry degree, she had the opportunity to study physiology and the bio mechanics of the human body. While taking her BCRPA certification courses, her passion for helping others to explore and enhance their physical health and fitness began to evolve, and it turned into an incredibly rewarding career in personal training. Lauren loves working with people, from all walks of life, to support them towards reaching their personal fitness goals. She understands that each person’s life has unique challenges, and she is extremely motivated to support others towards finding their own healthy balance. Committing to a positive, long-term lifestyle change can be challenging, but with the right mindset, proper nourishment and regular exercise, anyone can achieve their fitness goals!
